A crossdresser in a Japanese schoolgirl outfit was accused of groping women in Japan.

The man was wearing a wig, and a navy blue blazer and skirt while queueing at the Itabashi Station on the Saikyo Line in Tokyo on April 19.

A vigilante vlogger named 'Guts' - who films videos exposing the widespread problem of voyeurs and perverts on Japanese public transport - accused the crossdresser of being a molester, though no video was recorded of a groping incident.

Footage shows train staff later arriving to detain the alleged suspect who was about to board a train. The crossdresser was later released.

Guts said: 'This person is still free. Ladies, if you see him, don't get too close.'

Groping in public, known in Japan as 'chikan', is a persistent problem for commuters in the repressive conservative country. It is punishable with fines of up to 500,000 yen (around 3,700 USD) or up to six months in prison.

Despite attempts by authorities to curb it, chikan is still rampant, with students or employees reluctant to report incidents for fear of being late to school or work.
