Brave firefighters battled a sandstorm to rescue five trapped passengers in an overturned vehicle in northwestern China.

Heroic video filmed in Turpan City in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region On April 18, shows firefighters rescuing five people trapped in an overturned car and then using their bodies to block the powerful winds while transporting them to safety.

According to reports, the rescue vehicles were shaken left and right by flying sand and rocks and the worst visibility was less than 5 metres.

All five trapped passengers were safely rescued.

4月18日18时56分，新疆吐鲁番市消防救援支队指挥中心接到报警称，吐鲁番艾丁湖往托克逊方向车辆侧翻，有人员被困。
吐鲁番托克逊县九龙路消防救援站立即出动1车5人，联动交警1车3人赶赴现场。由于风区瞬时风力可达11级以上，一路上救援车辆被吹起的飞沙走石砸的左右摇晃，黄沙漫天，视距最差时不足5米。
前进困难重重，暴露在此种环境下，除了呼吸困难，脸上、身上、手上被猛烈刮过的砂石打的生疼，寸步难行。
现场指挥员确定被困人员的数量和位置后，首先安抚被困人员的情绪再利用绳索牵引，用身体为群众搭起挡风墙，护送被困人员上车，最终5名被困乘客全部被安全救出。
