How To Cake A Cinco De Mayo Pinata Novelty Cake by Cake Decorating Master Yolanda Gampp
ARRIBA ARRIBA it's (almost) Cinco De Mayo! I couldn't resist the temptation to make this colourful and delicious sombrero hat piÒata cake for the occasion! I wanted to replicate the colour and texture of a real piÒata with layers of fondant; I even hid candy on the inside! Stationing the carved cake on a platter covered in gumpaste really helped stabilize my cake and set the shape for the hat.
FYI there's a surprise at the very end of this vid so be sure to watch it all the way through. Let's just say I treated this cake like a REAL piÒataÖ and may have had a meltdown afterward.
