Video of a thunderstorm that moved over Greensboro, Maryland at about 5pm on Earth Day, Saturday April 22, 2023. At about 10:10am, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the metropolis areas of Washington DC and Baltimore and the entire Delmarva peninsula. As the day progressed, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved west out of the Appalachian mountains, and proceeded east towards Washington DC and Baltimore. The line continued, but weakened slightly as it moved over the still chilly waters of the Chesapeake Bay around 3pm. The line of storms did cause some hail and destructive wind in areas, but was merely a thunderstorm as it approached Caroline County and the town of Greensboro. However, the storms did indeed re-intensify as it progressed over the warmer land to the east and into Delaware.
