The far-right group Patriot Alternative was outnumbered Sunday, April 23 in Derbyshire as counter-protesters planned to disrupt a rally organized in opposition to two hotels in Long Eaton housing migrants.

Police intervention at one point lead to a short altercation between police and counter-protesters as they attempted to clear a route so that PA could set up a small stage made from scaffolding poles.

Laura Towler, who is one of the main figureheads of the far-right group, addressed the small crowd of supporters alongside other speakers who were competing to heard alongside the loud noise created by counter-protesters.

An aggressive debate broke out amongst both sides throughout the protest, which coincided with Saint George's Day.
