Motorists used pillows to shelter themselves from huge tennis ball-sized hailstones that smashed through the car's windscreen on a road to Zhuyuan Township in Bijie, Guizhou.

The fist-sized hailstones smashed through the car roof and windows, injuring one of the passengers' arms.

The hail lasted for several minutes and caused significant damage to the vehicle. The car body was dented and riddled with fist-sized craters, while the windshield was shattered.

Despite the chaos, everyone in the car survived without serious injuries. The driver, Liu, said that the car can be repaired, and the most important thing is that everyone is safe. The shocking video of the hailstorm was provided by Liu with permission.

The video was filmed on April 21.
