Homeowner hires diggers to save cliff-edge home in Kent, UK

Cliff-edge home owner Edd Cane has taken the extreme step of hiring diggers to try and 'shore-up' his cliff edge home in Kent, UK.

Footage shows earth moving plant near his at-risk property in Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey this afternoon (April 24).

The pensioner reportedly decided to 'take matters into his own hands' - after authorities claimed they were unable to protect the cliffs - following a huge landslip that occurred back in 2020, with the loss of a neighbour's property.

However, his attempts to 'hold back the tide' have reportedly run into problems with Swale Council and the Environment Agency due to the risk of soil contamination and the cliffs being of special scientific interest for fossils.
