A tsunami warning has been triggered in Indonesia after a 7.3-magnitude earthquake.

Local authorities instruct residents of affected areas in Sumatra Island to move away from the shore. Footage from a local journalist shows his flight by motorbike alongside other local residents. He also stops to talk to locals to ask them about the situation.

According to agency reports, the earthquake struck at about 3am local time on Tuesday morning (2000 GMT on Monday).

"The strong tremors of the earthquake were also felt in the city of Padang, West Sumatra [on Sumatra Island]," the reporter said. "As a result of a potential tsunami warning, some residents living on the seafront fled to a safe place."
