In Nizhny Novgorod region, a very specific type of robber has appeared who robs stores not for profit but also puts on a show at the crime scene. One such incident occurred in the village of Buturino on April Fool's Day and turned out to be no joke. On that Saturday, an unknown man burst into an alcohol market on Lenin Street. Like in an action movie, the perpetrator instantly found himself at the cash register and began threatening a strong-looking man standing at his workplace with a knife. The store employee did not resist and obediently took out money from the cash register. At that moment, other employees and customers were in the store, but none of them dared to stop the armed man. As soon as the attacker went outside, the frightened seller called the police.

The police arrived at the scene and detained the perpetrator who did not try to hide. After committing the crime, he went out into the street, threw away the money and stayed to wait for the police. While talking to the police, the man admitted that he had decided to commit a crime because he wanted to go to jail.
