An alert Railway Protection Force cop rushed to the aid of a man and saved his life after he had slipped and lost control while trying to board a moving train in western India's Gujarat.

This incident is reported to have happened on platform number one of the Ahmedabad railway station on April 24.

CCTV footage showed the passenger, later identified as Darshan Kumar, jogging by the side of the moving Bandra-Hisar express train (22915), looking for an opening to enter it. He does get hold of a handle but lost his balance. At one point, he was getting dragged by the train as it travelled. The RPF cop, identified as constable Jiya Lal Meena, who was standing near the area of this incident after having dismounted from office duty, instantly rushed to his aid. He grabbed hold and pulled him away from the train, eventually succeeding in doing so. Had he not intervened, the man could have fallen into the gap between the train and platform and lost his life.
