A wild moose wandered into a cinema and snacked on popcorn.

The beast emerged from the forest and walked into the Kenai Cinema in Kenai, Alaska, on April 19 shortly before 9pm local time.

CCTV captured the animal tucking into a tub of popcorn on one of the counter shelves as employee Jasmynne Palmer looked on.

The employee said the moose stayed inside for around ten minutes before being safely escorted out.

Manager Ricky Black said: 'My employee was behind the counter. She wasn't in immediate danger from the moose. And she's like, 'Stop laughing. This is serious'.'

Wildlife biologist Nick Fowler from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game told local media that moose normally eat twigs, leaves and other plants.

He added: 'I don't know if a Happy Meal is good for a moose or not. However, I can confidently say that it's not in its natural diet.'
