360 Indian nationals were evacuated from Sudan as part of the "Operation Kaveri" yesterday (April 6). It is estimated that there are currently 3,000 Indians stranded in the country.

India has deployed military planes and warships to allow rescue operations before the ceasefire expires on Thursday night (April 27). African trading bloc Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has proposed the extension of the truce.

The footage shows evacuees boarding a military plane in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as an announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi plays. In the audio message, Modi orders all Indian citizens to be safely evacuated to India. People can be seen clapping their hands as they hear the Prime Minister speaking.

The video also features images of a long line of Indian nationals waiting to leave Jeddah.

A total of 360 Indian nationals left from Jeddah to New Delhi as 'Operation Kaveri', aimed at evacuating Indians from war-torn Sudan, continues.


This happened on Wednesday, April 26.

Visuals showed the Indian nationals seated inside the plane as an announcement stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered that all Indians in the war-torn country be safely evacuated and brought back home. The people were expectedly happy at being evacuated and clapped after the announcement. Sudan has been witnessing a lot of violence as a result of its army and para-military forces clashing with each other.

Soldiers loyal to army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has been clashing with the para-military Rapid Support Soldiers led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo. It has been learnt that 300-500 soldiers have been evacuated so far. Military planes and warships have been deployed by India to rescue its citizens from the war-torn nation.
