Russia claims its Su-25 attack aircraft fired missiles at Ukrainian targets
Russia has claimed that its Su-25 attack aircraft have fired missiles at Ukrainian military targets and equipment.
The footage shows one of the Russian planes being prepped for takeoff, with it being loaded with ordnance and refuelled before its pilot can be seen inspecting it.
The pilot can then be seen getting into the cockpit before two aircraft can be seen taxiing onto the runway and taking to the skies.
The images then apparently show the fighter jets flying low over countryside before opening fire on unseen targets.
The aircraft can then apparently be seen coming in to land back at base.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Thursday, April 27, along with a statement saying: 'Attack aircraft Su-25 VVO launched missile attacks on military facilities and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.'
The Russian MoD added: 'Su-25 attack aircraft of the Eastern Military District (VVO) launched missile attacks on military facilities and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'Missile launches were carried out in pairs from low altitudes.
'After the use of aviation weapons, the crews performed a manoeuvre, releasing heat traps, and returned to the departure airfield.
'As a result of combat use, camouflaged fortified field positions and enemy armoured vehicles were destroyed.
'After the sorties, the engineering and technical staff completed the tasks of servicing aircraft and preparing aviation equipment for a second combat sortie.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
