Custom officials seize narcotic substances from whiskey bottles in northern India
In a shocking incident, customs officials successfully seized narcotic substances from whiskey bottles in northern India’s New Delhi.
The incident took place in New Delhi International Airport on April 27.
As per reports, a Tanzanian passenger was intercepted based on Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and customs profiling who travelled from Addis Ababa. He smuggled cocaine mixed in whiskey in whiskey bottles. Upon the search of his baggage, three bottles of whiskey were found. As per new modus operandi of the smugglers, cocaine and similar narcotics are being dissolved in alcohol since alcohol is easy to evaporate, making narcotic substances easily recoverable.
The customs officials have made the arrest of the culprit and necessary investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
