Fascinating footage shows how stretched jeans destined for expensive shops in the West are made - toiled over in a sweatshop in Cambodia.

Footage shows the factory workers staining the blue denim trousers at a factory on the outskirts of the capital Phnom Penh.

The employee said the fashion items are shipped to the West where they are sold for much more than the 'dollar or two' they cost to make in the factory.

He said: 'There's a lot of work involved in making the jeans look fashionable. We're a poor country but very good at making jeans.

'Each finished pair probably costs under a dollar to make. They will not cost more than two dollars here in the factory.

'When they are sold in shops in the West we could not afford them. We're only paid a few dollars a day.'
