Footage has emerged of the Russian MiG-31 fighter jet that crashed in the northern Murmansk region on April 26.

The video shows the aircraft soaring across the sky with flames being emitted from the rear.

According to Russian news agency TASS, the pilots ejected and are safe.

It is not known what caused the crash.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the incident, but the search for the crew and the wreckage of the aircraft was hindered by the difficult weather conditions and the remote location of the crash site.
