Thirteen-year-old Dillon R. grabs the wheel of a school bus carrying his classmates after the driver falls unconscious in Warren, Michigan on Wednesday, April 26.

The bus had been taking students home from Carter Middle School.

The drama unfolds as the driver begins to gasp while seeming to struggle to breathe. Seconds later, the driver's head falls forward and it is clear the driver has passed out as the runaway bus carries on down the road.

Dillon stamps a foot on the brake, steers the bus one-handed out of the way of oncoming traffic and shouts for someone to call 911.

The cause of the driver's collapse is unknown.
