Flood Warning for the Choptank River, Town of Greensboro, and Caroline County in Maryland - 4/29/23

Video of the Choptank River after a Flood Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for the town of Greensboro and Caroline County in Maryland at 4:45pm on Saturday April 29th, 2023. Up to about 4 inches of rain fell in and around the Choptank River watershed from Friday morning April 28th until the very early hours of Saturday morning April 29th, causing the River to rise at least 4 feet in Downtown Greensboro. The flood warning is in effect until 8pm, however there is a flood watch issued for the entire Delmarva peninsula for the entire day on Sunday April 30th, as another round of heavy rain is expected, possibly up to 3 inches in areas. Farmland across the eastern shore of Maryland and into Delaware has been inundated with water.
