Apocalyptic Fires in Southern California- July 2013

On July 16th, fire broke out along the top of the San Jacinto Mtn, just southwest of Palm Springs. It burned for six days straight, destroying over 25,000 acres before a miraculous monsoon storm moved in to quench the flames. This was taken in southern Palm Springs on the first evening of the fire. It looks like something out of an apocalyptic film!
