A compassionate teacher carried his student's baby so she could focus during class.

Teacher Adriano Cuevas saw high school student Jelaica Lagrosa having difficulty taking notes as she held her fussy baby in Pasig City, the Philippines, on April 3.

To help the young mother, Adriano volunteered to hold the infant first so she could finish doing her work.

Heartwarming footage shows the kind teacher embracing the baby in his arms while discussing lessons in front of the classroom.

Student Jelaica said: ‘There was no one to take care of my baby that day, so I decided to take him with me. I had an important activity that day so I couldn't miss the class.

‘While writing, my baby kept on pulling the pen from me. My teacher saw it and intervened.'

The baby boy appeared entertained while the teacher spoke to his class, and they moved around near the writing board.

Jelaica added: ‘I am so grateful to have teacher Adriano to guide me. He is the best teacher.'
