A shocked resident woke up to find rain leaking from the ceiling into his room during a storm in Thailand.

Rati Saenthai was sleeping when he felt water dripping onto him amid a downpour in Phetchabun province on April 26.

He said: 'The rain flooded and damaged my things. After the storm, I checked and found that a pigeon had nested in the rain gutter.'

The Thai Meteorological Department warned that southerly and southeasterly winds prevailing over northeastern Thailand would strengthen between April 23 and 26.

Outbreaks of summer storms, accompanied by thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail, and lightning strikes, were expected to affect the northeastern and eastern parts of the country first, before spreading to other regions.
