A parked truck rolled backward while pushing the driver into the road.

CCTV footage shows the modified silver pickup in the sloped parking space while a man rummaged on the trunk in Suphan Buri province, Thailand on April 10.

A few seconds later, the car slid down and shoved the man into the motorway as he resisted its weight.

While struggling to control the vehicle, another man in a black shirt ran to help.

He entered the driver's seat and pulled the brakes just before the truck reached the middle of the road.

The man in the black shirt Suthep Thavorn said: ‘I hope this becomes a reminder to check the car before leaving it. These accidents can happen with a small mistake.'

No one was hurt from the incident and the car was also spared from any damage.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools, cheap loans for cars, notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws as well as endemic corruption and chronic under-investment in infrastructure hamper the efforts.
