Anaconda found choked to death when fish prey's stinger pierced skin
A massive anaconda was found choked to death after its fish prey’s stinger pierced through its throat.
Fishing guide Rony Dronov was near the city of Dourados, Brazil, on April 28 when he found a lifeless snake floating in the water in front of him.
Creepy footage shows the guide pull the four-metre-long anaconda through the shallows as it became clear that its proposed lunch had become its last supper.
Lifting the body out of the water, Rony found that the fish it has been eating had stabbed through the side of the snake’s body with a sharp fin, effectively killing them both.
Rony said: “I have been a guide for a very long time in this region but had never come across a sight like this before.
“I was extremely impressed with the fish’s defence mechanisms. Even though it died, it managed to take the much larger predator with it too.
“When trying to swallow the fish, its stingers pierced right through the skin of the anaconda, killing it.”
