Just Stop Oil activists arrested on same day Public Order Act changes come into force
Police made several arrests as dozens of Just Stop Oil protesters marched on Parliament Square.
Footage from May 3 shows several activists being frogmarched into the back of police vans.
The group's Twitter account has tweeted about changes to the Public Order Act that come into force on May 3: "We are 9 hours into new, repressive anti-protest laws in the UK, where protesters can be stopped and searched by police, and you can be imprisoned for six months for 'locking on' — which includes linking arms.
"This is the Public Order Act. Welcome to police state Britain."
The changes now state: "Section 7 creates a new offence of interference with the use or operation of key national infrastructure, which includes road, rail and air transport infrastructure, oil, gas and electricity infrastructure and newspaper printing infrastructure."
