A bride trekked barefoot with her groom and entourage to celebrate their wedding reception at home.

Hazel Ann Marticio lives in a remote village inaccessible by cars in Camarines Norte province, the Philippines.

Despite the logistical difficulty, the sentimental Hazel Ann still wanted to share her big day with family and extended relatives, so she asked everyone to walk a rigorous 30-minute trail with her.

Footage shows Hazel being guided by her husband across a narrow bamboo and concrete bridge over a river on April 27.

She said: ‘We couldn't bring everyone to church. It will be difficult to take cars because there are no proper roads.

'When I told my husband and entourage about celebrating the reception at my hometown, they all agreed. We all enjoyed the long walk.'

The newlywed couple and guests arrived half an hour later and continued with the wedding party at Hazel's parent's house.
