Lord Mayor of London cuts coronation cake at street party in City of London
The Lord Mayor of London Nicholas Lyons took on the honour of cutting the first slice of a large sponge cake made for a coronation street party in the City of London on Sunday (May 7).
Addressing the crowd at a Coronation Big Lunch event at Aldgate Square, the Lord Mayor said it was a "great privilege to represent the City of London at Westminster Abbey, and it really was the honour and privilege of a lifetime to be so close to the king and the queen when they were crowned".
Thousands of street parties and Coronation Big Lunches are taking place across the UK on Sunday.
