South African Ministers hold 2023 Netball World Cup press conference

Cape Town, 8 May 2023: South African Cabinet Ministers and an MEC from the Western Cape Provincial Government held a press conference at Cape Town’s iconic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront about the 2023 Netball World Cup. The Netball World Cup will take place in Cape Town from July 28 to August 6 in Cape Town.

In attendance at the press conference was Zizi Kodwa (Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture), Nocawe Mafu (Deputy Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture, Anroux Marais (Western Cape MEC for Sports, Arts & Culture), Bernice Swarts (Deputy Minister of Public Works & Infrastructure), Cecilia Molokwane (President of Netball South Africa) and Cape Town Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews.

Twelve teams, including South Africa, are set to participate in the Netball World Cup. The World Cup Trophy will travel across South Africa in the weeks leading up to the games and then be handed over to the Cityof Cape Town at the start of the tournament.
