Footage show Ukrainian artillery hitting a Russian mortar on the frontlines.

The video shows Russian soldiers operating the mortar before the area is hit by Ukrainian ordnance, with at least three Russian soldiers then seen running for cover.

The images then show the mortar being hit, with further ordnance hitting the area.

A Russian soldier can then be seen getting up and hopping away, visibly injured.

The footage was obtained from the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday, May 7, along with a statement saying: 'Successful artillery work - minus a mortar crew.'

The images were also relayed by the Office of Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, May 8, along with a statement saying: 'Successful work of the artillery of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — minus a mortar crew of the occupiers!

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
