PETA protesters dressed as Environment Secretary Thérèse Coffey and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hang stuffed animals on a clothes line outside Downing Street and a banner proclaiming, “Rishi: Stop Hanging Animals Out to Dry!” The protest comes on the two-year anniversary of the government’s Action Plan for Animal Welfare, which has seen only a quarter of the plan’s commitments put into action and only one of its three bills delivered. The activists are calling on the government to strengthen animal welfare laws in the UK.
