This is the heartwarming moment an injured bat attacked by ants was rescued in Thailand.

The black-winged mammal fell while flying back to its colony and was discovered by kind residents in Chonburi province on April 20.

It was still twitching and fighting to live despite hundreds of insects biting its body.

Footage shows the bat being cleaned off of ants by its rescuer. The resident Suwipha Tanaporn and her relative used a stick and plastic trash to hold it safely while removing the insects.

Suwipha said: ‘The wings have been bitten. We released the bat to a tree so that he can return to his family.'
