Chinese passerby scales first-floor window to hold up trapped toddler for 50 minutes
A passerby scaled the first-floor window to hold up a trapped toddler for around 50 minutes in southwestern China.
Video filmed in the city of Zunyi in Guizhou Province on April 19 shows a man standing on the top of the first-floor security net to hold up a 2-year-old boy who was left dangling from the second-floor window.
Finally, police officers went into the apartment to bring both the boy and the man back to safety.
The young hero, named Tan, happened to be passing by when he saw the boy's head stuck outside of the window.
Without hesitation, Tan climbed up to the first floor and held onto the boy until the police arrived to rescue them both.
"I was up there for around 40 to 50 minutes, and I couldn't stand up when they pulled me up," said Tan, who bravely put his life at risk to save the young child.
According to reports, the boy's parents had left him alone while he was sleeping and had gone out for the evening. When he woke up and found no one home, the boy climbed out of the window to look for them, leading to the dangerous situation.
Thanks to Tan's quick thinking and bravery, the boy was saved and reunited with his grateful parents.
