A stray wheel that came loose from a car bounced into a shop and smashed cabinets.

The object detached from a passing Nissan pickup truck and hurtled towards the car parts store in Phetchabun province, Thailand on May 5.

CCTV footage shows the flying wheel hitting a stack of plastic chairs before being thrown inside the shelves where the supplies were kept.

Shocked shopkeepers who were inside for their lunch break checked what had caused the banging sound and found the wheel inside.

The shop's owner Anuphong Sithisuwankul, 35, said: ‘They called to inform me what happened so I quickly went to the store. We found the driver and he apologised.'

The car owner agreed to pay for the repairs to the shp for the shattered glass cabinets.

Anuphong added: ‘It was an accident so we accepted his apologies. He has also taken full responsibility so we are fine.'
