M5.4 earthquake jolts northern California

A magnitude 5.4 temblor, initially measured 5.7 by USGS, shook Northern California on the afternoon of May 11. The moderate shaking was felt as far south as Sacramento.

The quake hit at around 4.19 p.m. with an epicenter 2.2 miles southwest of East Shore. No reports of damage or injury as of press time. Some residents in the region reported feeling aftershocks.
