A student made a device that tells the owner when plants are thirsty by playing this hilarious message.

Footage shows the 3D-printed box blasting out hilarious audio upon sensing the loss of moisture in the soil.

A voice shouted ‘give it to me, just give it to me' multiple times from the speaker in the device. The screeching then stopped after pouring a cup of water on the pot.

Self-taught programmer Varun Patel from Florida designed the handy device for plant lovers who want to start their indoor garden.

He said: ‘It uses a 3D printed device to play an audio whenever the plants need to be watered.'
