The Kneeling Carabao Festival drew in a crowd of thousands today (May 14) in Pulilan, Philippines' province of Bulacan.

During this event, the owners of the carabaos, domestic water buffalos native to this country, guide them to kneel, creating a captivating sight for the enthusiastic crowd.

The animals can be seen parading across the streets during this extraordinary event which also features carts adorned with ornaments made of fruits and vegetables.

The purpose of this festival is to express gratitude and pay homage to San Isidro, the patron of farmers, in recognition of the bountiful harvests they have enjoyed.

Thousands attended the ‘Kneeling Carabao Festival’ in the municipality of Pulilan, Bulacan on May 14, 2023. In this unique festival, carabaos are pulling a beautifully decorated carts with fruits and vegetables ornaments as they are paraded on the streets of Pulilan and once they reached the front door of San Isidro Labrador Church, the carabao’s owner force them to kneel. This festival is a thanksgiving and honour to San Isidro, the patron saint of the farmers for a bounty harvest.
