Bornean orangutans are part of the large family of apes and are the largest arboreal mammals. This animal has long, matted hair that is dark red-brown in color, with facial colors ranging from pink, red to black.

The weight of an adult male Bornean orangutan can reach 50 to 90 kg and a body height of 1.25 to 1.5 m. While males and females weigh 30-50 kg and 1 m high.

Body parts such as long arms serve not only for grasping food such as fruit, but also for swinging from one tree to another, using reach and legs for firm grip.

The pillow-like temples of adult male Bornean orangutans make this animal's face look bigger. However, not all adult male Bornean orangutans have pillow-like temples.

The Adam's apple can be inflated to produce a loud sound, which is used to call and notify them of their whereabouts.
