The latest train of Starlink satellites was seen piercing the clouds as it ascended above the Alps in Vetroz, Switzerland.

A photographer filmed as a group of 56 satellites that were launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, made their way into space.

The filmer said: "They fly around Earth in about an hour and a half so they have already gained quite some distance between themselves and thus appear as a 'satellite train' when they are sunlit against a dark sky.

"In the next couple of days you might see them again in your sky but each day their train will be longer and longer. The brightness depends on how high in your sky they appear. The higher, the brighter and more easily visible."
