Customs seize gold in paste form concealed in sanitary pad worth $93,652 in southern India
Customs officials arrested a woman passenger who arrived from Muscat with illegal gold in southern India's Telangana.
The incident took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad on May 15.
Visuals showed a man putting a slit on a sanitary pad and removing liquid gold from it into a container.
She was trying to smuggle in 1,476 gram of gold worth Rs. 77 lakhs (USD 93,652.87). The sanitary pad was hidden near the passenger's seat and the woman was arrested under the Customs Act.
