This firefighter fulfilled his burning desire by proposing to his girlfriend on a balcony with the help of a cherry picker.

Nikita Slobodchikov was lifted up to the seventh floor of an apartment in Birsk, southwestern Russia, where he popped the question to his unsuspecting girlfriend.

Slobodchikov, who is a senior inspector at the Birsk Interdistrict Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work, is heard asking his now fiance: "I have a fire in my heart, and I don't want to put it out. I have one question, will you become my wife?"

His girlfriend responds with a yes and the couple share a kiss through the balcony's window.

Slobodchikov's romantic gesture has since gone viral on Russian social media.

In a heartwarming gesture, a senior inspector of the Birsk Interdistrict Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work, Nikita Slobodchikov, climbed a ladder to the seventh floor of an apartment building to propose to his girlfriend on her balcony.

The incident took place in Birsk on 5th May 2023, a city in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. Slobodchikov, who is also a rescuer, arrived at the location on a fire truck with a ladder and climbed to his girlfriend's balcony with a bouquet of flowers.

In a video the young woman can be seen appearing on the balcony, surprised and emotional at the sight of her boyfriend on a ladder with flowers in hand.

Slobodchikov then makes a heartfelt proposal, saying, "I have a fire in my heart, and I don't want to put it out. I have one question: will you become my wife?" His girlfriend can be heard saying yes.

The video has since gone viral, with many people applauding Slobodchikov's romantic gesture.
