A 19-year-old man who was previously injured in a fire at a factory in Derbyshire in January has died.

Emergency services from three counties were called to the PW Defence factory in Draycott on January 20.

The weapons system factory supplies the Ministry of Defence.

Derbyshire Police confirmed that the 19-year-old died on May 11. They released a statement: "Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary are working in conjunction with colleagues from the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the Coroner has been informed."

A teenager has died three months after a "fire" at a "weapons systems factory which supplies the Ministry of Defence".

Derbyshire police have confirmed that a 19-year-old died on Thursday last week (11/05/23) after the blaze at the PW Defence factory in Draycott, Derbyshire, on the evening of January 20th 2023.

Fire and rescue crew from 3 counties (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire) attended the incident alongside Derbyshire police and East Midlands Ambulance service.

Crews were seen in hazard material suits as a number of witnesses including the cameraman described a smell and smoke which resembled white phosphorus sweeping through the area surrounding the incident.

Derbyshire police said in a statement on Tuesday: "Emergency services were called to a business in Wilne Road just after 9.10pm on Friday 20 January". "Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary are working in conjunction with colleagues from the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the Coroner has been informed."
