A dog was rescued after it spent almost two days trapped in a pool of sticky fuel oil.

Footage from May 10 shows the pooch neck-deep in a puddle of thick liquid in Birobidzhan, southeastern Russia.

A passerby spotted the dog by chance after hearing whines coming from the area. They immediately called a rescue team.

The team spent almost an hour painstakingly extracting the canine from the viscous oil.

After being sent to a veterinary hospital, the dog was washed with vegetable oil to remove the toxic liquid from its fur.

According to the filmer: "The animal was washed from toxic slurry for two days with vegetable oil. Now the animal feels good and is already frolicking with might and main in the hay."

In a heart-wrenching incident that took place in Birobidzhan, Russia on the 10th of May 2023, a dog was rescued from a death trap. The poor creature had spent more than a day in a puddle of fuel oil and was barely alive when rescuers found it.

It was only by chance that the dog was spotted by a passerby who heard a weak whine coming from a nearby swamp. On closer inspection, the person discovered the dog with only half of its muzzle above the surface of the black, sticky oil.

The rescuers were alerted immediately, and they sprang into action, realizing the dog was in grave danger. After several attempts, they managed to reach the dog and begin the complex and risky operation of freeing it from the thick, viscous oil.

It took nearly an hour of careful work, but the rescuers managed to extricate the dog from its perilous situation. They were amazed that the animal had managed to survive for so long in such a toxic environment, and they immediately transported it to a veterinary hospital for emergency treatment.
