A brave female animal rescuer dragged a large python hiding in the ceiling of a chicken coop.

Footage shows animal rescue volunteer Khetsaraporn Boonsuk reaching for the 10ft-long serpent's tail at a property in Phitsanulok province, Thailand, on May 5.

Her colleagues helped her pull the snake down before it was pinned to the ground.

She carried it outside with another volunteer before taking the creature to their facility.

Khetsaraporn said: ‘We released the snake later. The farmer had been complaining that his chickens kept going missing. So we believe the large snake was the culprit.'

The snake was safe, and the farmer said he would build a safety net around his property to ward off wild animals.
