Fire engulfs major mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A fire broke out at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (May 17).

In the video, black smoke came out of the mall.

The blaze is suspected to have originated from an electrical transformer, as the oil intended for cooling is believed to have overheated, leading to ignition.

As of the latest update, no injuries or casualties have been reported.

In a statement by the management, Mid Valley City, a prominent mixed commercial development housing Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur, is set to resume operations on Thursday (May 18) following Wednesday's fire incident.
