Incredible rescue: Elephant safely recovered from desolate well in Odisha, India
Villagers and forest officials rescued an adult female elephant after she fell into an abandoned well around 10 -12 feet deep in Odisha, an eastern Indian state. The animal was found along the Baitarani River at Tuntuna under the Champua forest range in Keonjhar district on May 18.
According to reports from the Divisional Forest Officer Dhanraj H D, IFS Keonjhar district, the Night Patrolling team received information about the incident at 5.30 am.
Thanks to the help of the emergency services, the elephant managed to get out of the well at approximately 6.45 am. The team used an excavator to dig a path. The footage shows the animal running away in an open field after the rescue.
