I was teaching my learner to drive when we were overtaken by a noisy fast car with a large amount of smoke billowing behind it. My leaner was quite startled and wondered if the car was on fire due to the large amount of black smoke. It looked to me like there was black smoke coming from higher up on the car than just the exhaust and the whole back of the car was cover in black dirt, so I was a little concerned that it was more than just the exhaust. Once it moved in front of us we couldn't see the car through the smoke trail.

My learner had been quite nervous about driving at speed and had just recently started getting confident to go faster but was quite startled when this car came past.
