Killer python coils on family's kitchen roof beams after eating its cats
A killer python coiled on a family's kitchen roof beams after eating its cats.
The snake was discovered by shocked residents as they prepared breakfast in their home in Ayutthaya province, Thailand on February 11.
Footage shows the serpent tucked between the metal sheet and the wooden beams. It was dragged out of the home and measured 9ft-long.
Resident Fang Fang said: ‘We thought our cats only left the house and didn't return. We are sure the snake had something to do with it. Even our neighbour's cat was nowhere to be found.'
The snake was turned over to animal rescuers and later released to the forest.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
