This is the incredible moment curious and unafraid elephant seal pups pose for delighted photographers on South Georgia Island in the Atlantic Ocean.

The footage shows the animals getting closer and closer to the camera's lenses as a group of smiling photographers tries to immortalise the cute moment.

"The pups are intelligent and curious, and fearlessly approach human visitors, apparently revelling in the interactions", said the person who captured this amazing clip.

Southern Elephant Seals are born in early October on the subantarctic island of South Georgia. They weigh about 40 kg at birth.

"They grow rapidly on the rich 'rocket fuel' milk from their mothers, reaching 120 to 130 kg by the time they are weaned after only about 23 days", explained the filmer. "Their mothers return to sea after mating, leaving their weaner pups to live off their body fat and to learn how to swim and to socialise before going to sea at the end of the southern summer".
