Puebla saw a large amount of ash fall from Popocatepetl on Sunday, May 21 as the activity within the volcano in central Mexico significantly increased for the past few days.

Mexican authorities raised the volcano alert stoplight to the “yellow phase theree” from "yellow phase two”.

Videos posted on social media show streets, vehicles, and plants covered in volcanic ash across Puebla.
