A jury found Simon Fleming not guilty of carrying out a terrorist act when on November 28, 2021, in Windang, Australia, he fired bullets into the air and took two hostages. No one was injured in the incident.

During the trial, evidence was given that Mr. Fleming suffers from schizophrenia and was experiencing a psychotic episode when he engaged in violent acts.

The terrorism trial of Simon Fleming, who took hostages at gunpoint and sprayed bullets through a NSW suburb, has sensationally collapsed with a jury being ordered not to convict him over the daylight rampage.

Fleming, 41, marched into a dive shop, in Windang outside Wollongong, in the midst of a psychotic episode and held two men at gunpoint. He had a fake bomb and a manifesto on a USB in his pocket.
