This is the heartwarming moment a hero villager climbed down a 10ft deep well to rescue a pair of dogs stuck inside in Thailand.

The black male pooch named Chao Kuai had disappeared from its home in Tak province on May 19, with the owner assuming it had gone to mate with female dogs in the area.

However, the fur dad was startled that night when he heard loud dog cries coming from his neighbour's property around 500 metres away.

He followed the noise and was shocked to find his beloved canine trapped in an eight-foot well, along with a brown Pitbull hybrid howling for help.

He called villagers for assistance as he was scared the frantic brown stray dog would bite him.

Footage shows a kind rescuer climbing down the well shaft himself to carry both animals to safety.

Chao Kuai was happily reunited with his owner, while his grateful friend continued following the rescuers as if to show thanks.
